The BBC has announced that it will be transferring five of its departments to Salford Quays, Harbour City, Manyoo, , along with 1,800 jobs. To accommodate this, a major new Media City is being built, which will attract a myriad of media, broadcasting and film making companies to the area, creating an estimated 15,000 thousand jobs.
